"The Young Leaders' Academy has been an ardent supporter of strategic alliances since our inception. By utilizing the human capital and expertise of umbrella organizations we are empowered with knowledge and resources that enable us to build our capacity to serve. Ultimately, these partnerships enable us to more effectively accomplish our mission, by increasing efficiency, and enhancing the quantity and quality of our services." Our founding partners had to overcome distrust and disparately opposing philosophies to establish the YLA. Fortunately they courageously dared to take a leap of faith to create the YLA. They are still today major partners providing financial support, wisdom and guidance. They are:
At the national level there are umbrella groups whose brain trusts we tap into to do our job better. Their values and ours overlap and so we partner with:
Closer to home we respect the local dynamics of Baton Rouge. Because we wanted our local community to see the YLA as a wonderful example of what can happen when we come together to invest in "our" children we sought partnerships with these major players. The universities have provided homes for our programming on Saturdays and summers. The Junior League provided its membership, money, and helped to define the community service component for which we have been nationally recognized the last three consecutive years. The Commission and Service Corps have provided passionately dedicated young people with the skill sets and enthusiasm to complete our central staff.
Lastly, we depend of a few other non-profit organizations to ensure that our children will always have the opportunity to serve. Here is a sample of those organizations that have always offered themselves. They are:
