Young Leaders’ Academy Honored with Regional Innovator
Award
Young Leaders’ Academy of Baton Rouge was recognized for its
work in providing young African American males in the Baton
Rouge area with leadership and academic training and community
service opportunities. The Academy’s “service leadership” model
requires academy students (ages eight to 17) to devote a minimum
of three hours a month to volunteer activities. The Academy
offers a variety of programs including a mentoring program,
a summer and Saturday academy, after-school tutorial program
